BOOK FAIR

Taller 2 visited the Málaga Book Fair. In addition to browsing the various booths, the students conducted research and made calculations regarding the floor space used and the discount percentages on prices. It was a very interesting morning.

FERIA DEL LIBRO

Taller 2 visitó la Feria del Libro de Málaga. Además de ver los diferentes stands, el alumnado realizó investigaciones y cálculos acerca de la superficie utilizada y los porcentajes de descuento en los precios. Fue una mañana muy interesante.

III OLYMPICS FOR PEACE

A VISIT TO THE PARK

Adolescent Community and Infant Community had the opportunity to go on an outing together to Martiricos Park. In addition to having a great time, these activities help foster a sense of belonging and friendship among students of all ages at CIMM.

UN PASEO AL PARQUE

Comunidad de Adolescentes y Comunidad Infantil tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir un paseo al parque Martiricos. Además de pasar un muy buen rato, a través de estas actividades fomentamos el sentido de pertenencia y la amistad de todas las edades del alumnado del CIMM.

GUIDE DOG VISIT

Casa de Niños was visited by an ONCE employee and his guide dog. Over the next few weeks, this dog will visit all the classrooms so that the children can learn about his work and develop a deeper sense of empathy for people with visual impairments.

VISITA DE PERRO GUÍA

Casa de Niños recibió la visita de un trabajador de la ONCE con su perro guía. Durante las próximas semanas este perrito visitará todos los ambientes para que niñas y niños puedan comprender su trabajo y profundizar en la empatía con las personas que tienen discapacidad visual.

STUDENTS FROM VIENNA

This week, a group of high school students from the Montessori Galemo School in Vienna arrived at CIMM to spend time with our students in the Adolescent Community. In addition to various group activities and exploring the city, they will work on three projects related to water conservation and management, upcycling, and cultural exchange. We are thrilled to have this opportunity!

ESTUDIANTES DE VIENA

Esta semana ha llegado al CIMM un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria del colegio Montessori Galemo, de Viena, para compartir con nuestro alumnado de Comunidad de Adolescentes. Además de distintas actividades para compartir en grupo y conocer la ciudad, trabajarán en tres proyectos, relacionados con el consumo y cuidado del agua, el upcycling y la cultura e intercambio de cultura. ¡Estamos felices de contar con esta oportunidad!

BOOK DAY

On Thursday, the 23rd, we celebrated Book Day with activities in every environment: in the morning, there were storytelling sessions and writing workshops, and at 1:00 p.m., the awards ceremony for the 3rd CIMM Short Story Contest began. Along with congratulating those who received special recognition, we want to thank everyone who participated by submitting one of the 45 stories about peace that we received this year. We encourage the entire school community to keep writing!

DÍA DEL LIBRO

El jueves 23 celebramos el Día del Libro con actividades en todos los ambientes: durante la mañana hubo cuentacuentos y talleres de escritura, y a las 13:00 comenzó la ceremonia de entrega de premios del III Concurso de Relatos CIMM. Junto con dar la enhorabuena a quienes recibieron un reconocimiento especial, queremos agradecer a todas las personas que participaron enviando uno de los 45 relatos sobre la paz que recibimos este año. ¡Animamos a toda la comunidad del cole a seguir escribiendo!

CESUR VISIT

This morning, we welcomed a group of early childhood education students from the Professional Training center Cesur. In addition to touring our school, the group learned more about the Montessori philosophy and our approach to working with children.

VISITA DE CESUR

Hoy por la mañana recibimos la visita de estudiantes de ciclo de infantil del centro de Formación Profesional Cesur. Además de conocer nuestra escuela, el grupo aprendió más sobre la filosofía Montessori y nuestra forma de trabajar con niñas y niños.

FIELD TRIP TO MONTE CORONADO

Taller 2 Fuego went on a morning field trip to Monte Coronado, where, in addition to observing the area’s flora and fauna, they picked up trash from the mount. This gave them another opportunity to connect with the place where we are and allowed them to contribute to society and the environment from our own neighborhood.

EXCURSIÓN AL MONTE CORONADO

Taller 2 Fuego realizó una mañana de excursión al Monte Coronado, donde además de observar la fauna y flora de la zona, recogieron basura del monte. Así, contaron con una nueva oportunidad de conectar con el lugar en el que estamos y pudieron también contribuir a la sociedad y al medio ambiente desde nuestro entorno más cercano.

TALLER 2 FIELD TRIP

Today, the students from Aire and Fuego had the opportunity to visit the Fuente de Piedra Lagoon, a nature reserve that is home to the largest flamingo colony on the Iberian Peninsula. It is also home to a wide variety of local flora and fauna, a field trip that gave them the chance to learn about and experience nature.

EXCURSIÓN TALLER 2

Hoy el alumnado de Aire y Fuego ha tenido la oportunidad de visitar la Laguna de Fuente de Piedra, una reserva natural donde se encuentra la mayor colonia de flamencos de la península Ibérica. Es, además, el hogar de mucha flora y fauna local, una excursión que les ha permitido aprender y experimentar la naturaleza.

INTERNSHIP STUDENT

We are happy to announce that Sara, who is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Psychology at the International University of Valencia, is currently completing her internship with our school’s Guidance Team. Welcome, Sara, and thank you for your work at CIMM!

STORIES CONTEST

We will be accepting submissions for the third edition of our contest, with the theme “Stories for Peace,” until Tuesday, April 21. We invite you to use the weekend to set aside time for family writing sessions and to participate in this now-traditional CIMM contest. The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. in the library.

CONCURSO DE RELATOS

Hasta el martes 21 de abril recibiremos los textos para la III versión de nuestro concurso, con el tema: Relatos por la paz. Os invitamos a aprovechar el fin de semana para crear espacios de escritura en familia y a participar en este ya tradicional certamen del CIMM. La ceremonia de entrega de premios se realizará el jueves 23, a las 13:00, en la biblioteca.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

We would like to thank the entire CIMM community for this second quarter, which has been filled with new experiences and learning opportunities. We hope that these days off will give the children a chance to recharge their batteries and spend more time with their families. See you on Monday, April 13!

INTERNSHIP STUDENT

We are delighted to welcome Olalla to CIMM. She is an early childhood education student at the University of Málaga and is completing her internship at Casa de Niños since March 16th. We hope that her time at our school will contribute to her education and her future.

NEASC CONFERENCE

Last week, we participated in the 2nd Annual NEASC Spain Small Schools Conference: From Parts to Purpose: Building Meaningful Coherence in Small Schools, which took place in Seville. This event provided a forum for discussion and reflection among various small schools on the purpose, leadership, and well-being of educational communities.

La semana pasada participamos en el 2nd Annual NEASC Spain Small Schools Conference: From Parts to Purpose: Building Meaningful Coherence in Small Schools, que se realizó en Sevilla. Este encuentro fue un espacio de conversación y reflexión por parte de diversas escuelas pequeñas acerca del propósito, el liderazgo y el bienestar de las comunidades educativas.
