TALLER II PRESENTATIONS

Taller II students researched about the size and distance between Earth, the moon, and the planets in the solar system. They then transformed these measurements proportionally to explain where each one would be located on a map of Malaga. They gave presentations to Taller I and the Adolescente Community, explaining what they had discovered in an educational and entertaining way.

PRESENTACIONES DE TALLER II

Estudiantes de Taller II investigaron sobre el tamaño y distancia entre la Tierra, la luna y los planetas del Sistema Solar. Luego transformaron esas medidas de manera proporcional para explicar con un mapa de Málaga dónde se encontraría cada uno y realizaron presentaciones para Taller I y Comunidad de Adolescentes, donde explicaron de manera didáctica y entretenida lo que habían descubierto.

WINTER PARTY

There are only two weeks left until our winter party! We look forward to seeing you on Friday, December 12, starting at 2:00 p.m. in the school garden, as always with delicious food prepared by our high school students.

WE CELEBRATED THANKSGIVING

With various activities in the environments and a food drive to donate to the Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche charity, we celebrated Thanksgiving as a day to remember the importance of recognizing and being grateful for the good things in life.

CELEBRAMOS ACCIÓN DE GRACIAS

Con distintas actividades en los ambientes y una recogida de alimentos para donar a la agrupación Ángeles Malagueños de la Noche, celebramos Acción de Gracias como una fecha para recordar la importancia de reconocer y agradecer lo bueno de la vida.

SCHOOL COUNCIL

At the first school council meeting of this academic year, we reviewed the requests made at the last meeting of the previous academic year and commented on everything that has been accomplished, such as the lawn in the garden, the change and improvement of the lunch service, the repair of domes, and the increase in the number of nights for the end-of-year Taller trips. We are also happy to see greater participation from families.

We have improved communication and raised the profile of the school council for the entire educational community, which has created space to receive various requests that were raised at this assembly.

CONSEJO ESCOLAR

En la primera reunión del consejo escolar de este curso, se hizo un repaso de las peticiones de la última reunión del curso pasado y se revisó todo lo que se ha cumplido, como el césped del jardín, el cambio y mejora del comedor, el arreglo de cúpulas y el aumento de noches de los viajes de fin de curso de taller. También estamos felices de contar con mayor participación de las familias.

Hemos mejorado en la comunicación y en visibilizar el consejo escolar para toda la comunidad educativa, lo que ha generado el espacio para recibir distintas peticiones que fueron planteadas en este encuentro.

VISITS FROM STUDENTS

During November, we welcomed students from IES Divino Pastor and IES Santiago Ramón y Cajal, who came to visit our school and learn more about the Montessori philosophy. These visits are very important opportunities to share with young people who want to contribute to a kinder and more respectful education.

VISITAS DE ESTUDIANTES

Durante noviembre recibimos a estudiantes del IES Divino Pastor y del IES Santiago Ramón y Cajal, quienes vinieron a conocer nuestra escuela y a aprender más sobre la filosofía Montessori. Estas visitas son oportunidades muy importantes para compartir con jóvenes que quieren contribuir a una educación más amable y respetuosa.

READING CIRCLE

Students from Adolescente Community have created a reading circle to share with third-grade children from Taller I Agua and Tierra . In this way, they build spaces where they can continue to develop a love for books.

CÍRCULO DE LECTURA

Estudiantes de Comunidad de Adolescentes han creado un círculo de lectura para compartir con niñas y niños de tercero de Taller I Agua y Tierra. Así, construyen espacios donde seguir desarrollando el amor por los libros.

CHRISTMAS LOTTERY

We are happy to announce that all the funds raised from the lottery sales will go toward purchasing children’s and young adult literature, in both English and Spanish, for our library.

Each ticket costs €25, and our number is 49673.

Fill out the form before November 28.
Payment must be made in cash, and we will be collecting the money and handing out the tickets during the Winter Party on December 12.

Cada décimo tiene un valor de 25 euros y nuestro número es el 49673.

Rellenad el formulario antes del 28 de noviembre.
El pago debe ser en efectivo y estaremos recibiendo el dinero y entregando los décimos durante la fiesta de invierno el 12 de diciembre.

ERASMUS JOB SHADOWING

We are delighted to have shared experiences with Nikola, a preschool teacher from the Czech Republic who visited our school on an “Erasmus Job Shadowing” grant, part of the Erasmus+ program that allows professionals in education and other fields to observe the work of of their counterparts in another European country in order to share best practices and acquire new skills.

Estamos felices de haber compartido experiencias con Nikola, profesora de educación infantil de República Checa que visitó nuestro colegio con la beca “Erasmus Job Shadowing”, una modalidad dentro del programa Erasmus+ que permite a profesionales de la educación y otros campos observar el trabajo de sus homólogos en otro país europeo para compartir buenas prácticas y adquirir nuevas habilidades.

COMPOST PROJECT

On Wednesday, the first training session was held for the CIMM team on the GECO Biorresiduos composting project that we will be carrying out at the school. The project will be implemented in three centers in the area, promoted by the ALSORE Foundation. The aim of this initiative is to promote the circular economy and zero waste, as well as to raise awareness and educate citizens to separate waste properly and facilitate the recycling plant process. Training workshops for students at different educational stages will begin soon.

PROYECTO DE COMPOSTAJE

El miércoles tuvo lugar la primera formación para el equipo CIMM sobre el proyecto de compostaje GECO Biorresiduos que llevaremos a cabo en la escuela, y que se realizará en tres centros de la zona, impulsado por la Fundación ALSORE. El objetivo de esta iniciativa es impulsar la economía circular y de cero residuos, además de concienciar y educar a la ciudadanía para separar bien la basura y facilitar el proceso de las plantas de reciclaje. Pronto comenzarán los talleres de formación para estudiantes de las distintas etapas educativas.

IES BEN GABIROL VISIT

Last week, we welcomed students from the Ben Gabirol Institute, who learned more about the Montessori philosophy and how we work at the school. They also visited the classrooms and showed great interest in the activities. We are happy to have spaces to share and welcome members of our community.

La semana pasada recibimos la visita de estudiantes del Instituto Ben Gabirol, quienes pudieron aprender más sobre la filosofía Montessori y nuestra manera de trabajar en la escuela. También visitaron los ambientes y mostraron mucho interés en la actividad. Estamos felices de poder contar con espacios para compartir y recibir a integrantes de nuestra comunidad.

PUMPKIN BREAD IN INFANT COMMUNITY

As part of the cultural activities related to Halloween, Adolescents Community prepared pumpkin bread and went to share it with the children of Infant Community, who enjoyed the experience very much.

PAN DE CALABAZA EN COMUNIDAD INFANTIL

Como parte de las actividades culturales relacionadas con Halloween, Comunidad de Adolescentes preparó pan de calabaza y fue a compartirlo con niñas y niños de Comunidad Infantil, quienes disfrutaron mucho de la experiencia.

SECONDARY PARTICIPATED IN LEADINGIRLS

Last Friday, October 24, the students of Comunidad de Adolescentes attended the event "Leadingirls", organized by the City of Malaga, which seeks to promote interest in new technologies among young people. They were able to learn first-hand about the most cutting-edge advances in the field of artificial intelligence from an expert in the field and tested several applications for educational and cultural training.

SECUNDARIA PARTICIPÓ EN LEADINGIRLS

El pasado viernes 24 de octubre las y los estudiantes de Comunidad de Adolescentes asistieron al evento "Leadingirls", organizado por el Ayuntamiento de Málaga, que busca potenciar entre los jóvenes el interés por las nuevas tecnologías. Pudieron conocer de primera mano los avances más punteros en el campo de la inteligencia artificial de la mano de un experto en la materia y probaron varias aplicaciones destinadas a la formación educativa y cultural.

TALLER II VISITED THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

Taller II Aire and Fuego took a field trip to La Concepción Botanical Garden. They began with a guided tour where they learned about the characteristics of the plants and their habitats. Then they conducted workshops in which, through experiments, they learned about the chemical reactions that expel co2 into the atmosphere and talked about the greenhouse effect and climate change.

TALLER II VISITÓ EL JARDÍN BOTÁNICO

Taller II Aire y Fuego realizaron una excursión al Jardín Botánico La Concepción. Comenzaron con una visita guiada donde conocieron características de las plantas y sus hábitats. Luego realizaron talleres en que, a través de experimentos, aprendieron sobre las reacciones químicas que expulsan co2 a la atmósfera y hablaron sobre el efecto invernadero y el cambio climático.
